Big Idea B-Plan Contest
The Big Idea contest is an annual B-Plan contest organized by V-Guard Industries Limited that aims to bring the corporate expertise & academic intelligence to a common arena, wherein the proposed strategy for V-Guard is discussed, studied, brainstormed, and awarded. It also creates opportunities for interaction with top leaders of V-Guard, wherein the young minds can discuss and understand the business challenges to fine tune their thought process and cultivate a thought leadership among them.
Big Idea contest with its inception in 2011 is gearing up for its 12th season in 2022. The event has had participation from 1000+ students across Management & Engineering colleges since its inception and continues to attract best talents to share their thoughts.

The theme for V-Guard Big Idea 2022 is “The Next Big Leap
Arrive at an unaddressed Consumer / Business Insight.
Develop a viable Business Idea or Model that can change the world and bring in a better tomorrow.
The Idea or model could lead to a sustainable world, democratise consumption or even change the very cost structure. The benchmark – Is it really the Next Big Leap? Does it lead to a better tomorrow?
- Your ideas should be commercially feasible and pragmatic with the potential to impact the lives of a substantially large set of consumers.
- The proposed recommendations should be able to impact V-Guard’s current business / products / categories. Alternatively, it could compel V-Guard to enter a new category or even pioneer a new category as a natural extension of its DNA and prowess.
- The submissions should cover the market penetration and development strategy and all the other aspects of a typical business plan.

Who can participate?
- Students pursuing 2-year PGDM/MBA course from any authorized Private/Govt./Deemed University/Institute situated in India.
- No restriction in terms of specialization/ academic year.
General Rules & Regulations
- Any number of teams can participate from a single institute.
- The number of members in a single team should not exceed 3. All participants in a single team must be from the same college irrespective of year of study/specialization.
- The participants must produce ID cards on request.
- Registration Fees: Rs 1000/- per team from a college.
- Participation will be confirmed subject to receipt of the participation fee. The fee paid is non-refundable.
- The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on the participating teams.
- Participating teams are requested to visit the website for all updates about the competition.
- Organizers have the right to make changes in the event if necessary.

Registration
The Last date for registration has been extended to 5th October 2022. Each team should complete registration, payment, and submission of the executive summary on or before 5th October 2022.
Executive Summary Submission
All the teams will have to submit an executive summary on or before 5th October 2022- 01:00 PM.
Rules Regarding Executive Summary:
The executive summary should be typed (Font Type - Times New Roman, Font size - 12), and should not be more than 2000 words. Charts, diagrams, etc. may be included to support any research work or data collection. The summary should try and cover the following aspects in brief:
- Rationale of the Plan
- Fit to Portfolio (Why should V-Guard invest in the recommended business plan)
- A Brief of the Operational, Financial and the Marketing Plan
- How to gain Competitive Advantage regarding the industry/service proposed
- Key Strategies for Executing the Plan
Declaration of Finalists
Top 20 teams will be shortlisted based on the summaries submitted. The teams shortlisted will be intimated through their mail ID and announced online on 20th October 2022.
Submission of Detailed Reports and Presentations
The top 20 teams must now submit detailed reports that elaborates on:
- Feasibility Study of the Business Idea through Consumer Research
- Customer Value Analysis
- Financial Feasibility and Projections
- Market Penetration and Market Development Plan.
- And all other aspects of a typical business plan.
Guidelines for final presentation shall be shared separately to the selected teams.
Business Plan Contest - Finals
The shortlisted Top 20 Teams will be invited to make their final presentation before the judges on 18th and 19th Nov 2022 at an offline event. Detailed instructions shall follow.
Payment Method
Participation fee should be remitted online (Online Banking/NEFT/Card Payments/UPI) with deposit title/comments as ‘Team Name_ BI_2022’. Reference ID or payment screenshots should be uploaded as payment proof in website.
